Kurt S Jul 25th, 08, 09:06 AM Those cans are the liquid tire chain traction enhancer, V75.
Any car could be an RS.
Yes, I'm pretty sure the car was a COPO.
What's the axle code?
yellow69RS Jul 25th, 08, 09:17 AM Those cans are the liquid tire chain traction enhancer, V75.
Very rare and very cool! My white book shows 188 cars so equipped, being that your's might be a COPO all the better.

SPEEDYSS454 Jul 25th, 08, 04:19 PM KURT I JUST CHECKED THE AXEL CODE TODAY ITS BT..355??? AMY I CORRECT???IS THERE SOMEWAY TO FIND OUT IF ITS 100% POSITIVE COPO??? I PULLED THE REAR SEATS AND NO BUILD SHEET,IM GONNA DROP THE TANK OVER THE WEEKEND AND SEE WHAT I FIND THERE...THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE HELP GUYS... sorry this was all caps...
firstgenaddict Jul 25th, 08, 07:18 PM Are you sure it is BT? Could the T really be an E?
What is the casting date on the axle?
Assembly date on the Axle?
Are there any spring tags on the front springs?
Kurt S Jul 25th, 08, 07:55 PM You're new here, but I don't say something like that unless I'm pretty sure I'm right.
James asked some good questions: what's the complete axle code?
SPEEDYSS454 Jul 26th, 08, 08:29 AM ok guys i checked and double check the codes on the rear and this is what i came up with bt 0425g2 if any you guys can make anything out on that and underthe bt the is a letter e there buy itself..... this car has a SCRA sticker in the windshield from canton ohio if any one knows anything about that place...
Kurt S Jul 26th, 08, 07:54 PM BT is a 3.55 posi. Dated a little too early for the car, IMO.
Where did you buy the car?
SPEEDYSS454 Jul 28th, 08, 06:57 AM Pa... It Has Been In Storage Since 78
firstgenaddict Jul 28th, 08, 08:54 AM Photos of the fuel line... front and back.
Photos of the firewall... speedo cable hole and over by the bulkhead connector for the wireharness.
Photo of the bottom of the trans cross member
Do you have the radiator? If so photos of it and the rad tag...
I would assume it has disc brakes?
What is the date code on the distribution block below the master cylinder? (EXAMPLE 8-276 = 8=Year - 276= day of the year)
Does the Mater cylinder have a stamping on the half moon machined pad on the front? If so what is it?
IMHO The car is worth the research... you may find some paper with a previous owner or better...
SPEEDYSS454 Jul 28th, 08, 09:11 AM James I Can Seem To Load The Pics..could I Poss Send Them To You And You Up Load Them??? That Would Be A Big Help.... Thanks Again..
SPEEDYSS454 Jul 28th, 08, 09:24 AM Just Check The Valve On The Fame And Its 108-9 Its Has A 309 Master And Has Us On The 1/2 Moon But No Other Numbers...
firstgenaddict Jul 28th, 08, 01:56 PM That is all correct and dated right...

firstgenaddict Jul 30th, 08, 12:32 PM If you go slow and use a tooth brush and some strong cleaner like 409 you may be able to see some markings... if that doean't work go to ENAMEL REDUCER and try it... alot of times people used bug bomb enamel and it will come right off with the enamel reducer but the original laquer will be left intact...
novamob Jul 30th, 08, 01:05 PM Cool find! I love Burnished Brown. My BB COPO was vin 664890 bdy#357843...was also an X11, 4 speed. Sold at Roger Dean in Charleston WVa
firstgenaddict Jul 30th, 08, 06:16 PM I am going to say that the car is in all likelyhood a COPO. The chances are a helluvalot better than not...
SPEEDYSS454 Jul 31st, 08, 06:49 AM Thanks James Again For All The Help On Getting The Pics On Here And Thanks To All The Members For There Pm About The Car.i Have Had Almost Everyone Telling Me That This Is A True Copo And Everyone That Has Looked At It Said It Was... Now What Should I Do Next ??? Is There Someway To Record It??? I Have 3 Pace Cars That I Would Like To Do The Same With.anyone Have A Suggestions???
firstgenaddict Jul 31st, 08, 07:16 AM Call Jerry MacNeish, he verifies cars... if you have 3 it owuld be well worth it, plus if there are any more guys that want to have their cars looked at close to you, you all can defray some of the traveling fees for him... http://www.z28camaro.com/consvcs.html

Hatman Jul 31st, 08, 08:17 AM Neat ,Neat Neat ,& I thought I had a great find.
Unreal Jul 31st, 08, 09:04 AM Another clue is the Z-Bar. 9" long = small block. 9.5" long = big block
Spend the money to get it looked at by Jerry.
Also go to Yenko.net and PM 427King (Chuck). He has several MN blocks/motors, and just might have yours. (long shot, but maybe) At the very least, you can get a real MN from him, even if it is not your original block. You won't steal anything from him, but you can count on him to be fair.
SPEEDYSS454 Jul 31st, 08, 09:17 AM yep just checked z-bar is 9" long...thanks again guys..i just located a pair of full gm 1/4s that a guy has for sale.i will get ahold of jerry in the next few days he is somewhat close to me...
SPEEDYSS454 Jul 31st, 08, 09:19 AM z bar is 9.5 not 9
69 z11 Jul 31st, 08, 09:46 AM And now it's time for a stupid question:
What is a Z bar?
SPEEDYSS454 Jul 31st, 08, 10:28 AM connects the clutch push bar to the pedal and has a bracket that mounts to the side of the frame
69 z11 Jul 31st, 08, 01:30 PM And it's ½" longer because the big blocks are offset a bit more to the passenger side than the small blocks?
RPOZ28 Jul 31st, 08, 01:54 PM Congrats. Neat to see another burnished brown. My scuncio car is

The production date on Chris's car is 05/29/69 and it was invoiced on 06/02/69 per NICB. Do you know who the selling dealer is? There was a COPO sold from Scuncio with the liquid tire chain option also, here is a link to Chris's car. Ed
