most antifreeze will say ALUMINUM SAFE on the container.
dont use water wetter with antifreeze cuz it wont work.
water wetter with water only!
the best thing you can get is an sacrifical anode.
advance auto carries them.
get a couple

I ran water wetter in a 67 Mustang for years with 50/50 mixture of antifreeze. Worked fine for me.. just my .02 cents.

Most important is use ONLY distilled water. I think most coolants are ok with alum but ask at the part store if no one else is sure. Im had bought universal for about 13/gal but next time Im getting the regular old green stuff.

Do a search on Dex Cool. I will let you decide. I use the prestone 50/50 stuff in my aluminum radiator.

Forget Dexcool - GM just settled a class-action Dexcool lawsuit for a Billion dollars, with 16 more pending settlement. The gool old "green stuff" will work fine, as will the Zerex GO-5 formulation; always blend with distilled water. "Water-Wetter" is simply a surfactant to reduce nucleate boiling at the coolant/iron interface, and all anti-freezes already have surfactants in their additive package; it's intended primarily for use with water-only as the coolant, as mandated by most race sanctioning organizations.

You might consider using a waterless type antifreeze. Evans makes a product called NPG + (Nonaqueous propolene glycol). It doesn't have a problem with electrolysis, boils at 375 degrees and won't freeze until it's 40 below! I used it in my big block because I had a problem with pinging due to hot spots in my cylinder walls (396 bored .125) It's a little expensive but supposedly lasts a lifetime. Here's a link to their website:

I have no connection with them, but have used it in two motors and have been happy with the results!

Good luck!
