My 4 speed 69 now has the purple and purple/white wire in the console (was in clutch area) for the neutral safty switch so I could have easy access to wire in my starter interupt from the alarm system. The problem is that this wire is 10 gauge and the alarm doesn't want to switch that high of an amperage. It will disconnect but not reconnect with any reliability. I tried another type of keypad interupt and also a toggle switch and those won't switch either. The only thing that will work is a shunt at the starter wire termination. I'm using molex connectors to wire these in and have used them in higher amp applications with no problems. I've tested the alarm and keypad outputs, as well as the toggle switch (which is rated higher than needed) and they all work as expected. It just appears that the amperage they are trying to control is too great. Has anyone else had a similar problem or do you have a alarm or keypad wired in and working? I suppose I can wire in a relay but wanted to see if I could shed some light on it here first. Thanks
