Repo trunk lock key and housing is 90 degrees(horizontal) to where it supposed to be(key vertical). Any one else have this problem? Any solutions?

Any solutions? hereitis67 Jul 26th, 08, 08:12 PM my first guess is that you replaced your tail panel also. hope fully you didnt have it painted yet. if you did. take a file to groove and file inwards only. do not file outwards as it will chip paint as you come outwards.as i remember right you need to file bottom slot. thewebb1 Jul 26th, 08, 08:59 PM I did replace the tail panel but I kept the old one. Same cut out. I also have the original lock. The shaft that goes into the lock is 90 degrees different than the original one. Also the support bracket is original and only holds the lock at 90 degrees(key sideways) from original lock. freezined Jul 27th, 08, 12:00 AM I had the same happen to me, 90 degrees off in clocking, returned the lock for a new one |
