God forbid there should be a Camaro WITHOUT a rear spoiler... the '68 I'm restoring doesn't have one and it actually looks pretty cool. I've looked at so many Camaros, looking at one without a rear spoiler catches the eye.

Mark,

I did the same. But, since I like the spoiler and may eventually install it, I had one painted with the car. But, I am like you. Looks really good without it, also. We will see if I ever put it on.
I guess if my son ever wants it on, that would influence me also.
Mine is a 67.

I may go without the rear spoiler. it looks great as it is.

Seems to me that every Camaro has a rear spoiler. It disturbs the beautiful flowing lines of that car, which in my opinion is a masterpiece of design. Please don't install a spoiler, not only your Camaro will be different, it will be nicer than the crowd's. Simple times, simple cars, just my 02 cent. Frank.

When my 68 was painted, I had 2 lids painted, the original and a NOS lid I purchased with the holes already drilled for a spoiler. It is very simple to switch lids to change the look. I also had my original 14x7 Steel Rims painted with the car and bought a set of F-70-14 Firestone Wide Oval Redlines to match the original spare in the trunk. The Rally Rims look great, but you have the option to change things up a little bit and go back Original.

I removed my spoiler and rally wheels. Guess I am getting old but I like the look much better. See the last two pics in the link

No spoiler for me. I agree with the comments about it disrupting the lines. My first '68 didn't have one so maybe I am biased. Like Fred said its your car..............

I too have two deck lids. When I bought the car it had an aftermarket spoiler mounted to an aftermarket lid, but the owner had the original without spoiler. About a year into owning the car, I swapped them out and like the look without. Old school. But that's just me.

I took it off when I painted the car. I've always liked camaro's better without the spoiler..

Flat hood and no spoiler. Leave it original. Personally, I like the way the cars were when they left the factory. JMO.

I love the look of the spoiler. If I had one car to restore I'd put a spoiler on it. If I had a collection I'd keep some with and some without.

This is a funny post. As my X-66 car gets ready for paint I was contemplating painting two deck lids, one with and one without but I just assumed EVERYONE liked the rear spoiler  I am already doing two hoods, an SS and a cowl so why not just litter the spray booth with extra parts  My car has two little/thin trunk rods so figure it wasn't a spoiler car originally.

69 Lemans blue SS 396 with NO rear spoiler  Ya think
