I got a car today, that was free. All that I had to do is pull the straight 6 out of it, and they said it would be all yours. Its a 79 Nova, kinda thrashed but I thought what the hell its free.

Me and my freinds were going to build a thrasher out of it, but got looking at it and found alot of parts we can use on it.(in our garages and sheds)

So were going to make a sort of top fueler out of whatever we can conjuer up. The question is that I have a short block 400 just taking up space, and was thinking about throwing it in.

We want to put in another cam, but I am unsure of what to put in a stock 400. We plan to get some 64 cc heads to get the compression up a bit.

After we found out it has 4.11's in it we decided to go for the 1/4 mile stuff, We have a abandoned airport here we use for a dragstrip. Thanks all.

If you want big power i would go with a lunati duration@ .050" 230/230 .480/.480 lift
it has a 2,000 to 6,000 rpm range and is the biggest you can get with a stock converter and exhaust manifolds. Now if you have a different converter and headers go with the 246/246 and .515/.515. this can be found in the summit catalog and for the cam and lifters it is only 127.95

Hey thanks, we are going with single plane and all the other goodies. We are trying to figure out how to run the headers thru the hood, were thinking like a dragster style. 8 pipes sticking thru the hood.

I just dont know what cam for the stock 400 with the suckin rod to stroke ratio. Why the hell did they put that short rod in them I dont know. Everything else had a 5.7

Oh yea it is a stock 350 turbo, but I dont know how long it will last. Then we will be putting a 4 speed.
