Will it be ok if I use the stock Q-Jet from an 86 truck 305 on a stock 70's 454? Just wondering if it would be too small, thanks

FYI ,theres only 2 sizes of QJ's 750cfm & 850cfm.

No it's not an electronic one. Sounds like it's not original then?

There are only two Q-Jet sizes stock, 750 and 800 and after E-brock bought them they came out w/ an 850.

While troubleshooting my 74 - 454, I put on a 600 Edelbrock. That poor 454 would start, but it would not flow enough to do much more that a rough idle. When I romped on it, the thing would get so lean it would just start popping. I had the original Q-Jet rebuilt and benched by a really great carb guy in Colorado. I am not sure the size but its the original QJ on a 74 Vette LS454. I bet its an 850. Runs like a Baboon on meth!
