Hi Guys,

What are your thoughts on using a set of World Sportsman II heads with the 200cc runner (unported) on a street/strip 350 SBC, only planning on around 400 HP and 6500 absolute maximum at this stage (maybe some more later)
I know there are much more suitable heads around with smaller intake size more suited to what I’m doing here however these are on hand.

Car is 3150 lbs has 3000 converter with Powerglide 3.7 gears and will have around 230 to 240 @ 50 cam

I understand with the 200 cc runner I will lose a little airspeed and possibly sacrifice some low to mid power but how much would you expect to see.

Driveability is important as this will see quite a few street miles so really just after reliable combo with a nice smooth power curve that is nice to drive but can still run around the low 12 to high 11 range.

Do you think the 200cc head will do this okay.

Thanks
:)

Yes 200cc may not be the ideal port for your current combo, but I doubt you'd notice the difference. If you have them on hand, I'd go for it. Especially if upgrades are in your future.

Based on my zz4 with 200cc etec heads and the gm hot cam(218/228) I think the heads are ok but, your 3k verter and glide will keep you away from your 12ish goal and with 230/240 duration I bet it will be kind of soft on the bottom end. IMO

I run the same heads on my 327 with a 233/241 cam and it runs great. I think they should run fine on your 350.

A good friend has a 10:1 standard bore 350 with 200cc Sportsman II heads, Victor Jr. intake, Comp 292 hydraulic cam, and 3000 stall in a 3100 lb S-10 that runs 12.50's. It is a little soft on the bottom end but still runs good IMO.
