I wonder if there are any camaros left in the world that don't have a rear spoiler? I'm considering this CRAZY move on my '68 that is being restored. (it came without one, by the way) I'm leaning toward a medium-blue for color, does anyone have a pic of a '68 blue camaro WITHOUT a rear spoiler.

haha. That's pretty funny, Mark. I actually am restoring my '69 back to original--no rear spoiler. I personally like how they look without the spoiler. They really have great lines.

The 67 vert I'm doing in jet black will not have a rear spoiler, considering a front one. Crazy maybe, just think its better looking that way IMHO.

I don't have a rear but I just added a front. I'll probably break down and add a rear someday...

My cars a real spoiler car and it doesn't have the rear one mounted. I do have it and the thicker trunk rod if I ever decide to go back to it...

Don- would love to see a jet black camaro without a rear spoiler, I've thought about that color also. right now the car is down to bare metal and the back just looks so cool. I already have 2 hoods to paint (the original and a cowl hood it came with), might as well have a spoiler handy in case I change my mind. By the way... I'm also doing something even CRAZIER than no rear spoiler; I'm choosing the original hood over the much glorified, on every car and truck, cowl hood.

I can't decide between the cowl or SS. Once I get it in primer I'm going to use HOK jet set black as well as paint all three hoods. With the red interior, I think will look awesome can't wait but it looks like next spring before I get the interior back into car. I'll post some pics once I get the color back on it. Working 60 hours per week, wife, kids, doesn't leave a lot of time for the car, but I'm doing all the work myself so I can say I did it.

My favorite part about the first gen. camaros is the SS HOOD. I still may go that direction even though it's not an SS. if you go with red int. you should get the knock-off walnut wheel. that's a great look with red int. Here's another CRAAAAZY idea, what about gold interior with the HOK jet black exterior. darn,.... I just may do that on mine. You can do things on a muscle car that you can't do on a regular, modern passenger car. we were discussing this the other day about certain colors like yellow or some greens; colors that look great on muscle cars.

Already have all new red int, so other colors are out, but gold would look good, as would yellow and black combination. You are right about colors on muscle cars. I may have to look into a walnut wheel, the current wheel is red. I'm fairly sure mine is not an SS even thought the rusted hood, beat up badges etc.. point that direction, the cowl tag doesn't. It doesn't matter to me as this one is for the wife to drive and enjoy on sunny days. If it can't come out of the garage with the top down it doesn't come out .

67s did not come with rear spoilers. They were not an option that year.

Thanks Will! man, that red stripe works on black; and it DOES look great without the spoiler. Although you very, very seldom see SS wheels, I prefer the dog dish on the black.. man, I'll never make my mind up

NOT even the Z-28 came with a spoiler in 1967.

Very few 68 convertibles have spoilers. I'm not sure how it would look but it would look better than that luggage rack.

Anyone have a luggage rack installed on convertible?

Not going to put one on, as everybody & their sister has one.

It's kinda funny that when I got my first 69 in 1972 I was in high school and wanted a spoiler to be different. Now I don't add it to be different.

Trying to find a Camaro with a rear spoiler is about as hard as finding a strand of pukka shells in a Maui gift shop.

Personally I LOVE the look of the spoiler.
It gives a much sportier look to the car.
To each their own though!

My brother threatened to give me the luggage rack nos and attach it to the car. I hid it and he never found it, that was close !!!! I didn't even want to but another trunk lid, man its not my thing

It does nothing for me.

Wow, thats alot guys that prefer no spoiler. Even the firebird guys put the camaro spoiler on their cars. I love the look of the spoiler and the cowl hood no matter how many others have them.

I like the spoiler look so much, I'm putting a T/A spoiler on the firebird 400 we're building.

When you go to post, there is an icon at the top of the page that looks like a small mountain. It is for inserting the image. Paste the link into the box and voila........your pic appears.

Nice 67.............the best year.........:hurray:
