Kept going fawster and faster tonite....didnt mess with jetting much, just went back to where i was before, set the tires @ 14 lbs and ran it
Best and final run was...
60'-1.67, 330-4.89, 1/8-7.59 @90.53, 1000-9.92, 1/4-11.88@114.65 mph!!!! with a bog off the line. My big changes were setting my timing @ 32 degrees total and shifted @ 7,000 and went through the lights @ 6,800 instead of 8,000 and 7,500.
I got my 11 slip, and then my rear end went to hell on the very next launch!! I think i took off some teeth in the rear end thats what it sounded like pushing it back off the line. But they were factory gears and it was only a matter of time. Well ive got to replace the gears now so im going to set this car up to go 7,000 RPM instead of 8,000 and were going to get some low 11's out of it. Oh yeah i was running 89 octane tonight also.
:D Sorry im giddy even though i grenaded my gears.

kudos on the 11's!
i dont know if i'd gear down as your 60'times are excellent.maybe some stronger gears will do it.can i ask what ratio?heads?

Congrats graemlins/hurray.gif on the 11's. Lose that bog and you've got it.

Its a richmond 5 speed so first gear is a 3.28, and 4th gear is a 1.24. Couple that with the 4.11 rear gear and its like running a 4 speed with a 5.09. The reason i say i may back off the gear to a 3.90 is im going to back off the cam to a 7,000-7,200RPM cam and drop bare minimum 10-12 degrees @ .050 off both sides of the cam giving me more mid range grunt and the ability to pull to 7,000 faster off the shift. I need 119 MPH trap speeds @ 7,000 to get my LOW 11 slip and the 3.90 will give me that. The heads are Brodix RR200 with the cnc chambers, 2.05/1.6 valves

Great job and bogging at only 32 degrees is impressive. Sounds like more room for improvement. Still launching at 4000. What rpm are u shifting 2nd AND can i assume it is before 60 foot mark?Caltracs and what rear shocks? Are u powershifting the richmond? I am hoping for similiar 60 footer with my 327 5 speed nova in a couple weeks and 11.99 goal! thanks much and good luck with your next outing. AL

Impressive! Keep working at it.

I think you will like the change to a smaller cam.
