Hello Everybody,
Just read a cool installation article on the QA1 front pro-coil system for camaros in Camaro Performers magazine.
It looks like an interesting option for a mostly stock front suspension.
I would love to go the whole nine yards and buy one of the complete front subframes - but alas between beer and pizza - my funds are gone long before next fridays paycheck.
I was thinking about a new set of springs and a set of Bilsteins when I saw this set up. My first thought was "just how much maintenance do these Proma Star shocks require - and how long do they last?"
I would love to hear from users of the QA1 products.
Thanks, Abalone_steve

I installed mine with the Global West tubular A arms. Feels a lot different but the jury is still out. Not enough drive time.

I went with Global West upper and lowers with the AFX spindle and QA1s in the front and rear. Car isn't on the road yet so the jury is still out.

We do a lot of suspension set ups. The coil overs are a interesting piece. The coil over has one limitation and that is how much you can lower the car is the absolute most you can lower, and if you go lower you will kill the shocks. QA1 will tell you this, most resellers will not. Also, the spring is a bit small / short, and coneacle in shape not providing much stored energy if you plan to drag race or launch the car at all. BTW, we are QA1 distributors. QA1 make fantasic products, the coil over is limited though.
For G Machines, We sell a lot more Hotchkis lowering coil springs paired with QA1 shocks, makes for a great adjustable combination with a lot of spring. Same shock adjustability. It is a little less money also.

I've had front QA1 coil overs in the "R" series (90-10) shocks on mine for almost 4 years.
I wanted adjustable ride height and corner weight adjustability.
True they don't carry much stored energy, but some how I got them to work on mine. 1.38 60' so far, there is a little more in it.
I also have the GW upper and lower arms with del-a-lum bushings.

I see you are in Grass Valley. You might want to take a look at Varishocks from Chris Alstons www.cachassisworks.com (just down the hill from you in Sacramento, Ca) You can actually talk face to face with reps and hold the product before you buy it. They are very good quality shocks. I am not biased I have QA1's on the front and Varishocks on the rear. I just bought another set of Varishocks for the front of my Nova project. They are available in single or double adjustable also in coil over or non-coil over direct bolt in.
Just offering another option.
You didn't say what your car will be used for. If it's a street car or pro touring style car then I would think single adjustables would be fine.
