View Full Version : pin stripes under pace car decal
gfoust@rochester.rr.com Aug 5th, 08, 08:18 PM I've read that it was at the dealer's discretion whether to remove the pinstripes before applying the pace car decals and that many simply did not. I'm in need of a reliable picture to verify this as commonplace for an upcoming judging. Can anyone point me to a defendable picture?
The Pace Car is now fully restored and back on the road after 16 months!
Thanks for the help!

wagonman Aug 5th, 08, 09:26 PM you are correct!!!
some dealers or owners put the decal over the door pinstriping..
correct either way!
firstgenaddict Aug 6th, 08, 08:37 AM Depends where you are getting your car judged... if you go to the Camaro Nationals in the Legends class they will doc you for having the decals anywhere but the trunk... supposed to be as delivered from the factory.
gfoust@rochester.rr.com Aug 6th, 08, 04:08 PM Thanks! Fortunately, I'm no going to a Camaros judging, but I could still be doiced at AACA if they hold fast to the "as it left the factory"!
Thanks again,
Greg
gfoust@rochester.rr.com Aug 6th, 08, 04:24 PM Thanks to all! Fortunately, I'm no going to a Camaros judging, but I could still be docked at AACA if they hold fast to the "as it left the factory"! Does anyone know where I can get a picture showing the pinstripes under the decals?
Thanks again,
Greg

Unreal Aug 6th, 08, 05:37 PM deja vu.
z10kl Aug 7th, 08, 01:51 PM I remember going to a seminar at a USCC national event probably in the early ninetys and a guy put on a pace car seminar. He had pictures from the cars at the track and the stripe was under the decals on those. I don't think dealers would have all done it the same. I think I have a video of the seminar somewhere. I don't remember if the pics were on the video. I remember he had an overhead projector.
