I have a 68 camaro that currently has a 396 5440 block in it with 68 model 840 heads if it matters the intake is a 163 It is set up as 375 HP. when I bought the car it had a 69 model 396 block with long water pump and 69 model alt bracket, power steering pump basicaly everything was set up for the 69. I want to make the switch over to 68 and have purchased a short water pump, lower and upper alt. bracket so far. I do not have A/C. Was wondering if anyone else has done this recently and knew what other parts brackets, pulleys, etc I will need to purchase and also the best source for these parts. part numbers would be great but any help would be greatly appreciated. As always thanks in advance.:beers: Shane

If you have the correct power steering brackets for a 69, they are probably worth more than the 68 ones. Correct 69 is a 3 piece set with one little L bracket that attaches to the exhaust manifold, a cradle that attaches under the pump, and an adjustment bracket that attaches to the L bracket. If you have a 2 piece, that's for 70 and later.
Also the pump itself is unique for 69. If it has the return line entering the bottom of the reservoir, rather than entering from the back, it's 69, only.

Shane,
Look at Rick's catalog it has all the brackets you need. They also list all the DG pulleys you will need ,they are expensive. If you are going original ( not NOS) they also have the bolt sets and almost everything else you need for the 68.
