Mods/Admins: Please forgive me if I put this in a bad spot. Please mod or move it if needed.
Hi Floridians, I am going to be in Jacksonville/Gainsville Saturday - Monday. What is there anything automotive wise that is interesting between the cities of Jacksonville and Gainsville? Does Garlitz still have a museum there somewhere? Unfortunately I am going to a funeral, but due to travel I will have a whole day with nothing going on. I would love to go see some automotive museum, or sights. Those of you down that way. Please let me know of anything to see. Thanks

The Garlitz museum is still there to the best of ny knowledge, now it's called the Drag Race museum. It's worth taking a look at. Lots of early drag cars and motors, I lot of stuff on loan from some real big names.

Not car related but St. Augustine is about an hour from Gainsville and is a very cool place to visit. Thats if you are into historic towns. Sorry I am in Fort Lauderdale...

I think there's a budweiser plant somewhere outside of Jax. St. Augustine is cool too. The Garlitz museum is pretty neat. Not a whole day thing...maybe an hour or hour & a half tops. I have a couple pics in here:

Not to change the subject, but to "funbnme". I clicked on your car pic and that is the best wheel selection I have seen on a 1st Gen... The car looks bad azz!

We've got over 130 cars in our private collection at NPD, the majority being of the ultra-low-mile unrestored variety.... If you want a peek, email me and I can get you set up to be allowed back there... :) Just email me ricks@npdlink.com From here, Don Garlits is only 10 more minutes down the Interstate... But the REAL interest at Garlits is the reading, all of the amazing stories he's got to tell... So if you're just going to glaze past the relics, book an hour or so... But if you're into reading and really digging into all he's got displayed, plan on more time... It's worth it...
