This is for first-gen Camaro cars only, with STREET tires!

You may be thinking - how can I ascertain my 0-60 time accurately? And the answer is one of those nifty little accelerometers. This one works real good: http://www.gtechpro.com/ss.html

I have the older version of the GTech Pro and it has been one of the very best gadgets I ever bought......

Anyway, my best time on BF Goodrich radials was 4.6 seconds.

With ET "Streets" Zero to 60mph takes 2.2 seconds on a prept track

But that probably doesn't count ?

LOL, the very first rule I posted was "STREET TIRES".

Take those same 1 and 2 and 3 second 0-60 cars and put STREET TIRES on - then come back and post the 0-60 times.

Jeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, I thought that was a pretty dang simple rule for this poll.

Mickey Thompson Drag Radials are DOT stamped....I drive it 20 miles to the track, click off some 11.8's, and drive home. It's also driven all over on weekends when I'm off.... sooooo I would "think" it counted :clonk: guess thats what I get for thinking.

Regular radials, 2.73 gears,2.0 60's all day = est. 3.75 seconds maybe 4 flat ?

And you'll get about a million different definition of what exactly "STREET TIRES" are.

Anything with a DOT stamp on it is a street tire in my opinion . . . and on a good day mine will go 0-60 in about 2.2 seconds on drag radials. At the track of course.

If you want a strict definition of street tire . . . when my car was a mid-11 second ride, I took it to the track on 235-60-R15 BFG radial TAs and went 11.99 at about 116 mph which equates to a 0-60 time of about 3.3 seconds.

My MT's carry a DOT. They have to for club racing. But they are mostly slicks. 60' = less than 3.5 seconds to sixty mph.

Well, I was trying to EXCLUDE drag cars from the poll. VIRTUALLY EVERY DRAG/STRIP/SLICKED CAR IN THE WORLD WILL GO LESS THAN 4.5 SECONDS IN 0-60 mph TIMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The poll was (in my mind) meant for daily drivers. I guess I did not clarify enough at the beginning.

Anyway, the poll is meaningless now, so if a mod will delete, that would be great!

thanks

Pretty much everyone here takes their cars to the track, your probably the only one here who uses a g-tech.

I would daily drive if I could. I run 91 octain pump gas... but at $4 per gallon and under 10 mpg with a 26.2 mile (each way) to and from work :noway:

I don't think my 0-60 times are that stellar with a stock crate 350, but when I was riding shot-gun in a legit 69 Yenko Camaro, it seemed to get there pretty fast.:hurray: I even got to see a glipmse of both ditches before he made it to 30 mph:D Traction is somewhat limited on polyglas tires.

I like 0-60 discussions because it reminds us all how much faster our old Camaros are than expensive new trash. Which reminds me I gotta go get a gtech thingy.

Ok, it's not a 1st gen, but close enough weight, size, and suspension wise. On 215/65-15's street tires, my nova can take anywhere from 8 to 15 seconds to reach 60mph ;)
And it ain't because it needs rebuilt :D

Not possible to answer. Too many configurations available from the factory. I think that's why they're called muscle cars.
