Can anyone suggest a good tach & gauges w/o breaking the bank don't want over or underkill thanx.

Autometer's Sport Comp series is pretty good, and not too expensive. If I were you, I'd go for a decent oil pressure and water temp gauge at least. A voltmeter is nice to have as well, but I'd spend money on decent OP and temp over a voltmeter, and add it later if need be.

autometer makes a nice guage panel, holds 4 guages in the front part of the console, it looks great and doesn't cost much.

Tach is tough.... in dash repro's are expensive, but there's not a lot of room on the column to strap on an aftermarket tach. I used a sun mini tach for a while, it worked good, and only cost like $14.

An old-school, Sun supertach II will fit just about perfect on the column if you are looking for a period correct aftermarket tach.
