I went to visit my Camaro in paint jail today, and saw this.
They took a 2004 Covette convertible, and added a 1960 front and rear panels.

I just thought it looked very cool.

I usually don't like the old/new grafted cars but have to admit that this one really does look good.

that is actually a 'factory built' car; they DO take C5 Corvettes and modify them with factory panels. The 'look' is NOT '60 Corvette, but is instead intended to bring on the nostalgia of the original '53 Corvette! The Michigan company that builds these conversions originally took a project from Chevrolet to do a prototype for the 2003 50th Anniversary Corvette. GM didn't buy it, but others liked/loved it so now that company will modify your C5 Convertible into one of these (your choice of paint/interior colors) for around 40-45K..
they are also now doing a 'Nomad' sport wagon conversion which is mindful of the original 'Waldorf Nomad'.... 45K conversion...

I remember seeing an identical Corvette being auctioned at Barrett-Jackson this year.Limited production vehicle and looks nice.

There is also a '62 and now even a '67 conversion. The '67s proportions are not as acurate as this one and the '62. The '67 has been on Ebay a few times in the 125K range with no takers.

I think there was one at the last BJ auction. it didnt bring as much as they thought it would.

Back in the 70's there was a company taking Corvettes and adding the Continental kit (I believe that's what it was called) on the front and rear. In my opinion those cars look butt ugly now. There was one for sale on eBay about a year ago that didn't bid very high.

Really like the front end. The back looks unnatractive. JMO. :)

The Michigan company has built around 200 of these so far. I couldn't find their website, but they do prototyping work for GM, and their work is first rate. I did find this website which shows and tells a lot about these cars...

I have to second that. also the wheel/stance doesn't fit that theme. But I'd still have to say its neat
