In my never ending quest to tinker with my exhaust setup, I am now back to the American Thunder 17139 system. I started off with one, changed mufflers a couple of times, then went to an x-pipe. I was never happy with how the x fit, so now I am back to the Flowmaster system. This time I am going with Borla's for mufflers, like JimM. I got everything tightened up today and it looks, fits, and sounds awesome. I am done messing with it, for now... :)

Anyway, when I had the system on previously I always had problems with the rubber connectors moving around. This would cause the tailpipes to rub, buzz, and be generally annoying. So this time around I went out and bought a bunch of 7/16" shaft collars. This allowed me to lock the rubber isolators where I want them. The system is nice and tight and should hopefully stay put. I got the collars at Menards.

Here are some pics of how they look:

Glad you like the Borlas Marc!
Sometimes I wonder about giving specific suggestions on stuff like that, everyone's taste is a lil different and all.

I use those shaft collars too. MUCH more secure, and easier to get on and off.

That looks nice, Just got my tranny installed and now working on A\C and exhaust. I"m loving the 700r4! I went with the pypes kit with x pipe and Borla muffs. Can't wait to hear those Borlas.

Thanks for using your digital camera because even though I've used and have seen those collars before in other applications I was not sure what you were talking about until I saw the pics. Good job and great tip.

For good measure, I wrap a black zip tie around the rubber bushing in case it rips or falls apart.
