I am going to change my rear end gear and was doing the math but I need my trans 1st gear ratio. If anybody know what it is this would help me out . Thanks

I think the stock turbo 350 is 252 and a turbo 400 is 248 .

TCI offers some TH-350 transmissions that have a 2.75 first gear instead of the stock 2.52 ratio. Does cost extra!

Ok now that the question is answered I have a question.
Why is the 700r4 a more desired swap than the 200r4 which basically can be placed right in our cars without much modification and has a higher (numerically lower) overdrive!!!?
200r4 0.67
700r4 0.70
4L60E 0.70

I guess it depends on who you talk to on which is more desired. I see that one go around here a lot. I am switching to the 700. I was going to go with the 200. Locally the 200 was hard to find, plus the shop guys were all frowning on having to work on it. Parts are harder to find and a little pricier for the 200. The 700 has a lower first gear - better hole shot. I don't think there is that much noticeable difference in the OD. Guys for the 200 say it will hold up better for higher HP. This is all info that I have read and not from personal experience.
