can anyone tell me what the original fiinsh or color of bolt that is used to clamp the steering rag joint coupler to steering box? Non tilt manual steering on this...ps and tilt maybe same bolt(s).

The bolt is GM #7807271. It has a black phosphate and oil finish. All flexible couplings that attached to the gear and cast flanges that attached to the steering column shaft used this same bolt.

jim thanks, did you get that from amk? i looked in AIM and couldnt find bolt number. repo bolt comes in the gold irridite.

The flexible coupling was attached to the gear input shaft at the Saginaw manufacturing plant. So the gear was shipped with the flexible coupling and the 7807271 pinch bolt as one unit. That is why the bolt is not shown in the AIM.
