On a 67 Camaro, where do I place the jack to raise the back of the car on one side or the other? Or do you raise it in the middle? I know where to do it in the front but not sure about the back.

thanks,
dave:)

Rule one - NEVER use the original bumper jack. These things were crap when they were new! The only reason to have one is for shows.

Use a bottle jack (or a scissors jack) for "on the road" and a floor jack for "at home", and lift at the subframe for the front of the car and at the rear frame rails at the back of the car. Factory recommendations (circled) below.

I agree with Ed, never use the factory jack unless you want too loose your teeth:D. You can also jack using a hydraulic floor jack on the underside of the differential housing and then place jack stands under each the rear spring perches for security measures. Do not forget to block the front wheels.

And of course,,,,,,,,never get under the car without stands.

I usually jack the back with a floor jack under the differential. Then I place jack stands under the axle near both wheels. I cover all with a couple of rags to lessen the possibility of marring the paint on the diff and axles.

Thanks. I bought a hydraulic floor jack and stands. I don't even know where the regular car jack is.:D A guy at a tire shop lifted the front by putting the jack under the shock area, which also seems ok by the diagram. I'll use those other spots though.
