Check this out... I called these guys today (in the UK) after looking at the website- some impressive claims for their 'exclusive' vortex exhaust technology...

http://vortex-performance-exhausts.co.uk/technology.php

So the cost for these replacement race mufflers?.... $1100 EACH- 2 for a dual system, so over 2 grand...just for the mufflers!

Could these really be that much better than my uber-flowing spintch mufflers...for 80 bucks a piece?

Looks like an expansion chamber, like on a dirt bike. Guess it's for guys with a large disposable income who want to refer to their Civic as coming alive when it's 'up on the pipe'.

I'll stick with my cheap turbo muffs.

I'm all for the cheap W/D/T, smooth, perforated inner pipe glasspacks myself.

All of the scantily clad women on their site make it OK.

I didn't see any. Wasn't even gonna click on it until I read that. Feeling VERY ripped off right now. Don't mess with soon to be former smokers, we get cranky.

For that price it should have an electric fan in it so it will suck air/fuel through the engine, and make more vacume, like a blower, but for the other end.

Found a snaphot of the internals of these 'wonder' products:

Nothing at all like the 'vortex' mufflers that Cherry Bomb make:

I'm all for new/improved technology but I wonder if they perform as advertised...?

Isn't a blower for the other end, a turbo ? :)

From their site: "The race muffler will work on all vehicles although the performance is not greatly noticeable on vehicles with less than 250kw or 270hp"

I guess their engineers need to go back to school...

But all kidding aside, although I think their advertising and website isn't the best the product might not be that bad. It doesn't look like some cheap chinese stuff but I would be more interested in a back to back test on several vehicles than looking at some girls in a swimsuit...

A turbo still force feeds through the intake, a fan in the muffler would suck through the engine.

And wouldn't a fan suck raw fuel out the exhaust valve during overlap?

Those mufflers look like a feeble attempt at copying these:
