I finished rebuilding the 305 TBI in my '88 Camaro. The problem I am having is that it will start but won't run. It will start when I hold the key in the start position but when I release it into the run position it stops. Also, my fuel pump is not priming or pumping fuel. (I had to pour a little gas directly into throttle body to get it to crank, then I discovered my ignition problem.) I've check all my fuses and they're all ok.

Could these problems be related? I don't know where to start searching for the problem. Help!

Probably need a new ignition switch, the electrical portion on top of the steering column.

Use a light for testing and connect it to the BAT wire at the distributor and check for the light to light in IGN position. No light, ign switch might need a little adjustment or replacement if adjusting doesn't work.
