Does any one have an idea of what tire pressure to start at, for these huge meats? They are the MT sportsmans NOT the sportsman pros. What would be the best place to start. The car has an all aluminum interior 488 gears a 454 BB and a th400. converter is 3000 stall approx? on the street it blows the tires off even at 35 mph with light throttle accel. also The tires have been around a while(several years) should I do a long burn out or just a 3 count? I intend on replacing the tires next year some time just want to get a couple runs this year.
thanks

Milan,
You asked a very difficult (if not impossible) question to answer. This will totally depend on track conditions, car set up, etc... You want to run as much pressure (within reason)as you can hook with (that lowers the riolling resistance on the big end and keeps the car stable). Try starting at 15lbs and work your way down from there. I don't think you will be able to just set'em and forget'em. Make sure the tires are safe if they have been around for a long time (no dry rot, tread depth). Hte burn out also depends on the compound, just long enough to get them sticky. Hard tires typically need a longer burn out. Maybe some of the slick tire guys will have more helpful info.

What type of suspension does it have? Does it transfer weight well? and most important is it that torque monster motor that you built?

I realize the question is very tough to answer. I was hoping someone had prior experience with those tires.
Oger The suspension is the one I believe you replied a while back on. almost a ladder bar STYLE but constructed out of heavy rectangular stock and welded directly to the 9" housing. The car is a glass frt end aluminum interior and steel hull, stock style frt end lightened and rect tube chassis and tubbed and caged.

Yes it is for THAT ;) motor I built a while
