Does anyone have pictures or dimensions of the factory holes on the rear quarter and front fenders of a 1968 Camaro with rally sport rocker panel trim?

I have the new trim and clip kit, and it looks like there should be 4 clips in each piece of trim, plus a screw on the end of each door piece.

Also, the screw plates for the door trim seem very loose. There is some foam included that is supposed to get wedged under the clip to keep it in place until the screw is tightened. Is that how the originals where?

TIA

I realize this is a 69 centric site but there has to be someone who knows how this unique 68 RS only trim was installed on both sides of the factory.
Here is the Classic HQ molding clip set I have:

Even though Classic HQ is known for having high quality reproductions, these must be wrong. There are 24 clips in this kit, I don't have that many holes, and the moldings that where removed have a different clip. I am a little reluctant to drill 24 3/8" holes along the bottom of my car just to install the trim. There are some existing partially filler/paint covered holes.

My Chevrolet factory assembly manual shows 3 3/16" holes in the front fender and clips that have a nut. These Classic HQ clips have no nut and require a huge 3/8" hole to install.

My Fisher body manual only shows the door and rear quarter trim with "method of molding retention" as screws. It does not show how and where the holes are located.

Any pictures of original trim holes out there?

It's like the old saying " they don't make'm like they used to".....most repro parts are a perfect example:( It's not just Classic, all the vendors I've seen show the same style clips as in your pic. They do offer templates for locating the holes but are probably different from the factory. Might try searching your local body shops for clips closer to OE ???

I have the same question. I bought the template kit for locating the holes, but for the middle piece that goes on the doors one of the holes is in the corner and you can see it from the inside of the door!

Anyone have pictures of the aftermarket 3-piece RS lower body molding kit for a 68?

Thanks.
