Dan I looked at a 71 or 72 phase II in montclair NJ. with my older brother about 10 years ago. It had a 402 also. All four wheels had UGLY fender flairs. It also had T-Tops, It was blue and he had a ton of paper work. I think he wanted around 5-6k for it. Like the rest of them should of bought it:clonk:.
Any way cool ad.

Man, brings back some memories. That PL4-xxxx (Pronounced "Plainfield4-xxx") phone number translate to 754-xxxx. I grew up in that area.

Update-Talked to Tony. Was wrong on what it was originally.Car was a Phase III 454 car but Tony was the 3rd owner and bought it in 1974 with a 402 motor.Funny thing after talking to him and finding out color and options I personally remember seeing this car and talking to the second owner back in the summer of 1974.My first car was a Lemans Blue with STD black interior 69 SS 396 (Really 427/425) Camaro 4spd with Ansen 15 x10's N50 x15 Goodyears 15x7's up front,Lakewood J-Bolt traction bars,Headers with cherry bombs,etc..This 2nd owner wanted to race me,both cars sat side by side in a parking lot in South Bound Brook NJ.Never raced but never forgot this day back in 1974!! Such a small world sometimes!! By the way Tony no longer has it but told me where it went to.Hes gonna see if he has any pictures. By the way the car was Blue with L-88 hood ,Hooker chrome side pipes,Phase white stripe along sides, around tail section and down center of car.Had Motion badge and 454 on front fenders. No hone-O-drive.Yes I do know who the second owner is too.

Dan,
I tried to email you but it was returned

A 1971 blue/white stripe Motion SS454 sounds like a very cool find. Good luck with the hunt

The Motion Camaro program was in high gear in the early 70s with the 454 cars as the 70 Motion M/P drag car was doing very well in NHRA and getting a lot of customers for the 454 Camaro street car. Motion also had a very aggressive magazine ad program that worked well.

I am surprised that more of them have not surfaced.
