Can someone tell me when you close the hood on 69 Camaro with cowl hood does the seal rest against the hood our insulation under hood. I am installing the cowl hood factory cold air cleaner and the seal is resting on the insulation with hood closed. Iam installing the cold air factory air cleaner on 396 with Edlebrock airgap intake and 1/2 Canton spacer. Lots of mods so far but I need just a little more.

THANKS RAYZZ MY CAMARO LIKES MY MONEY

Ray...The seal should rest on or close to the hood, there maybe a little space in between the hood insulation and the seal. I could be wrong but heres a pic.

My hood insulation has plenty of clearance allowing the air cleaner seal to make contact with the underside of the hood.

Andrew -

How the heck did you fit under there to take that shot? I hope someone let you right back out.

Took the battery and battery tray out and reached my arm up through the bottom of the car. Took several tries to get the right shot....... just kidding. The little digital camera has a time delay feature. I set it on the battery, pressed the button, and slammed the hood shut. Did it a few times and got a few good shots.
Tonight I am going to use it to answer that age old question: Does the light really go off when you close the refrigerator door?

Only when there's a camera in there.

If it takes video with sound you can also answer the question... If a tree falls in the forest with no one to hear it does it make a sound?

If a husband makes a statement in the middle of the woods, and his wife is not there to hear him, is he still wrong?

Andrew,
What are you using to plug your snorkle?

Andrew,
What are you using to plug your snorkle?

You noticed because of the angle of the photo, otherwise it's hard to see. I found a rubber stopper at the local True Value Hardware store and stuck it in there. It disappears into the mouth of the snorkel. I have considered purchasing and installing the flapper valve assembly but like pulling the cooler air through the hood vent full time.

I think it's a great idea. Also what are you using to plug the hole behind the opening in your cowl hood on the underside?

I found a body panel plug at the same hardware store and popped it in there. I'll see if I can't get a photo of that too.
