Do a site search for radiators or Summit radiators and be prepared for a good long reading session! Badasschevy123 Aug 17th, 08, 10:41 AM I agree with ^^^^^^^^johnnysalami. I have herd very good things about summit's aluminum radiators. I currently installed a Superior Radiator I got of of ebay with a 16" fan w/ shroud for less that $500. If ya have the cash I recommend replacing the mechanical fan with a electric one. Here is the post I made not to long ago..... http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=136652&highlight=aluminum+radiator+install Hope This Helps! Chris tgifford5 Aug 17th, 08, 06:48 PM I installed an Entropy aluminum rad. with dual fans off of ebay. I also purchased the wiring harness for the fans. Total with shipping was around $720 including shipping. Love it. They are located in the Chicago area might be cheaper for you since I see you live in IL. I read also a lot of TC members like the summit radiators. I guess it depends on your wallet. The Entropy one is a BB rad. but is not a problem to mount if you have a SB rad. now. chevypower Aug 24th, 08, 12:06 PM I too went with the complete Entropy setup including the wiring harness. The radiator bolted right in and I did not have to relocate the battery. I've got a small block and had no problems with the install, just used the outer mounting holes on the driver side. The welds are pretty good and the radiator looks a lot better than the crusty one that was in it. I still have to wire it up so who knows if it will hold coolant but if it does I would recommend it (:D). Here's what it looks like... http://i4.ebayimg.com/07/i/000/8a/bf/4abf_1.JPG shadys69 Aug 24th, 08, 09:14 PM How much is this setup 69 Bowtie Aug 24th, 08, 11:27 PM I put the Summit alum. in my 69 3 months ago. Good price, fit and so far good performance. tgifford5 Aug 25th, 08, 07:04 PM How much is this setup If you are talking about chevypowers', I have the same thing. It cost $720 with the wiring harness and shipping. Purchaed off of ebay with cc. Once payment is received it took about 2-3 days to get it. I live in Iowa. I believe they are located in the Chicago area. Shipping will dictate the cost difference. I love mine. I use a 180* thermostat. Have it wired to come on when that temp is reached. Doesn't rise much over that even when idling. |
