How much lift"

There are 2 methods. 1 - Longer Rear shackles which I don't recommend as it does contribute to spring lurching which is dangerous in Corners and 2 - ReArching the rear springs for no more then say 2". I recommend 1.75" and you can still use the rear shackle length without the rear spring eyes binding on the frame.

Either way you have to lengthen the Rear Sway Bar Swing Arms and use a longer rear Brake Flex Hose.

i have a 79 Z-28 that has had the springs changed out by the previous owner because he didn't like the way it sat. he told me that the Z-28 springs only had 3 leafs in them, and he switched to standard camaro springs which i believe he said had 5 leafs. my car definately does not sag.

Hi Richard. :) I'm curious, how high do you want to lift the rear end and why? Are the orginal springs sagging? If so, just replacing them with the stock springs will bring the rear back up. It might not be good to go too high as the higher you get the rear lifted, the easier and easier it is for a person that might be tailgaiting you to get a straight shot at your gas tank with their front bumper and then, "Ka-BOOM!" That could really ruin your day. :(
