I just purcashed a 350 engine and I was wondering how I could get a little more power out of it.I don't know all of the engine details but I can list all that I know. It has an edlebrock aliminum intake, 600 cfm edlebrock carb, headers, gm high performance heads, CR ration probably around 9:1. The guy figures it has around 300 horsepower. I was thinking about putting on roller rockers and adding a new cam. I want to run power brakes so I can't have to radical of a cam. Can someone make a suggestions to rockers and cam from comp cams that would be good for this combo. I would like a lobe sound to the engine. Also do I need need to run new valve springs, lifters etc. I am looking for the most bang for the buck. Thanks

Need a little more info. What type of trans. and rear end gears do you have?Might want to pull a valve cover and get head casting #s.You definatly need new lifters springs would be a good idea but may not be required. Does the guy you bought it from know what cam is in the motor now?

You have to find more information about your motor. There's a lot involved in picking out a camshaft. Find out exactly what kind of cylinder heads the motor has. What do they flow? What size are the combustion chambers? Do they have any machinework? What kind of pistons do you have? Your motor may already be at full potential. If it is and you still want more horsepower maybe you want to start looking at NOS kits.

But first go talk to the guy you bought the motor from.

Best band for the buck is usually new cylinder heads.

Not sure how much money you are working with, but IMO it would be best to save your cash until you can get some decent aftermarket heads. A good set with no other changes will be like hitting the N2O button . . .

Please post back the letters at the end of the VIN number string on the little deck pad that is above the pass. side upper water pump bolt. If they aren't there, they MAY be on a little pad just above the center of the top of the w/p pulley??

ANd also, the head casting numbers too.

This will really help us decide what you are starting with..

VIN letters like "MO" or "TSC" and head numbers like "xxxx461" or "xxxx441" sorta deal.....
