i can get a 350 880 block out of a 96 chevy pickup for free. this is a vortec head motor.my question is the block is basically the same as any other 350 block, right?its just the top of the motor that is different(heads,intake,ect.) ,am i right or wrong?thanks in advance...

For the most part the block is the same. This block will be set up for a factory roller cam where as block pre-1987 did not. Also this block will have a one piece rear seal where the pre-1987 had a 2 piece. Other than that they should be the same. Hope this helps.
