Needs full resto. 4 spd car with tach/console, gauges. Turquoise with white int. Looks to be mostly complete. Does not appear to have come with rear spoiler, but has what looks like a luggage rack (sitting in trunk) Guy is selling his collection. These cars have been sitting outside. Does come with NOS fenders/doors/full quarters & original SS hood (stored inside) I have a couple distant pics.

Hi Scott, A real Camaro Convert RS/SS 396... Does it have Powered Disk Brakes, and matching number tranny and 12-bolt rear end? Um, ballpark again if it it the real deal, 25K if all the components are there, just ballpark and higher becuase of the color combo and of course POP or any docs would be great.

If it is a 325 horse car, $25K is about right if it needs complete resto. If it is a 350 or more or is in drivable condition, it would probably be in the $30Ks. A restored BB vert with born with drivetrain is a $40K or $50K car, more if it is a 375 horse.

Thanks guys. Its def a 396, not sure what HP version. I have not ran the #'s, but its def 396/muncie/12 bolt. Its been sitting outside for years. I know what the NOS sheet metal is worth. I have to act fast because it may go fast. He is aking 15K, may can get it for less, but not much. I have a couple pics but not detailed pics. It was getting dark & I was trying to get pics of everything.

If it isn't a car you have to bring home in buckets, I would think $15K or less is a great deal. Even if it takes $30K to restore, you're still not upside down (until some weenie greenies get our old cars outlawed...)

OK its a 325 horse 396. No AC. Rosewood wheel, power top. 8 Track in console. Luggage rack was said to have come on the trunk. (never seen one) He is the 2nd owner, 56K miles are supposedly original. Its not in pieces, its just rough. Plus there is at least $5k worth of NOS sheet metal that comes with it.

Have you bought it yet? It would part out for more than 15k if it is not a pile of rust...

Wow! The market must really be tanking if a restored BB Conv with original drivetrain is only bringing $40-$50K. It seems like I have seen hardtop cars and NOM cars selling in this range fairly recently. I guess I won't be selling mine any time soon! No disrespect intended, Eric, but I really thought the 69 BB 'verts were worth more than that.

No disrespect taken. I have been tracking the verts on ebay, because I considered selling mine. When I use $40K or $50K, I am covering the range up to $59,999.99. I have not seen anything but the solid lifter BB cars and Zs selling above upper $50Ks lately, but I could have missed some, and I don't track Mecum or the other "offline" deals closely.

As always, it depends on the quality of the resto too, and what options the car has. An RS/SS with born with drivetrain is more than an equivalent SS. I wouldn't know how much, but I'd guess RS would add up to another $10K. I missed that the car we are discussing is an RS as well (I missed the title..).

As always, JMO... :)

I've had a few tempting offers on mine the past couple of years. Mine is optioned a lot like the car being discussed here, but is Garnet Red/Black, and is a west coast car with absolutely no rust. The car is completely original, and could almost be considered survivor quality if not for a crappy paint job back in the 70's along with an assortment of battle scars and dings. I thought about posting it on this BB to let the "peanut gallery" have a shot at it, just for grins. :D

At least he was smart enough to get his butt over there asap. Anyone following the '69 Trans Am thread knows what can happen if you don't strike right away.

I thought the same thing. 40-50k for a numbers matching restored Big Block 69 Vert sounded low to me as well.

Then someone had better jump on this one...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=014&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=330262143744&rd=1

An L34 4-speed Pacer, numbers matching for $72K? Granted the only stamp shown is the Muncie, so you'd have to confirm everything, but even with the obvious things that are wrong and need to be fixed, an L34 4-speed pacer that looked decent was pushing $100K a few years back. If it's a real car...

Never really cared for the pace cars. Not that i could afford that car anyways. :noway:

I was thinking 50-60k for a numbers matching 69 Big Block Vert was about right..in todays market. But im not arguing that i could be wrong. If i am, i guess the market has fallen off worse than i thought. And i didnt really think the high dollar cars were as affected by it all as much.

Well I bought the car this morning. Probably pick it up friday or saturday morning. The carb and fan/clutch are missing as is the front bumper, but everything else is there. Title shows 54,xxx miles, odometer shows 56,xxx. I am the 3rd owner. I will post some pics when i get it home. It also came with NOS 1/4's, RS fenders, and tail panel. I hope I did the right thing, eh, didnt pay too much. The NOS sheet metal sealed the deal for me- it was mint. Going to clean it up & soak the motor to see if it will turn over. Thanks to all who replied, your advise & guidance along with that of a trusted friend/camaro guy helped make my decsion.

Ya I have a pic. Its Lemans blue with white top & white std interior. I will most likely sell. I have another 69 coupe I am just starting with LS1/6speed. I want the vert to be restored back to factory. It deserves to be done by someone with more expertise than myself. I have a 67 I just bought the other day, it was way too cheap to pass up. & I just couldnt let the vert pass. I'm stacked up & out of money. :D

You should have tried to save the other 3 Camaros the guy has!

The far blue camaro is a Z28 that he wont sell. The others are an X22 big block auto and an X22 big block 4 spd. No engines in either, and they are really rough. Not sure what he wants for them
