My 69 did not have the holes to mount standard mirrors. I also found a sport mirror in my pile of parts. Is it safe to assume my car came with sport mirrors? I can post a pic if needed.

No first generation camaro came from the factory with these. Ed Microgiant Aug 21st, 08, 07:58 AM Thanks for the reply Ed. So all first gens came equiped the same. I guess the reason I dont have the right holes on the passenger side is my repro mirrors then? Heres a pic of my doors. Did they all look the same as this in 69 as well? Or maybe someone punched those holes on the passenger side. http://www.easymoney69.com/Images/Pass_door01t.jpg (http://www.easymoney69.com/Images/Pass_door01.jpg) http://www.easymoney69.com/Images/Driv_door01t.jpg (http://www.easymoney69.com/Images/Driv_door01.jpg) Passenger ____________________________Driver DjD Aug 21st, 08, 08:06 AM Info here might help... http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=140135 Unreal Aug 22nd, 08, 05:51 PM My 69 did not have the holes to mount standard mirrors. At least some 69 Motion Camaros came with the bullet mirrors, but not from the factory.....maybe yours is a Baldwin Motion!! :) Seriously, not uncommon for an owner to "updat3e" their car with early 70's mirrors. 67CamaroRS/SS Aug 22nd, 08, 06:37 PM I am going to be installing a set of those 2nd gen mirrors on mine. At first, I wasn't too thrilled with the idea of drilling new holes in my doors, but I was examining it and if you redrill the mounting brackets, you don't have to drill the doors. It's much easier to get new brackets than it is to get a new door or have to spot weld the holes in to make it look good. Simply drill new holes in the bracket at the appropriate spot to align with the holes already in the door. |
