anyone know how to hook this up?:D I got this hurst shifter with the car in a box of parts and supposedly it is suppose to go with this saginaw but I cant get much to line up. In the goody bag there were more brackets and other parts so i dont know if any of these go with it. If it is not right, has anyone made a bracket or something to mount a aftermarket shifter. this is a nice shifter and im hoping it will work

The shifter is for a 2nd gen. F-body with a ST-10, and you have a saginaw...

you should be able to make what you've got work. the only problem i see is that you have the short reverse shift rod. take that long shift rod that you have and cut/bend/re-weld it to fit and use it for your reverse arm. looks like the 1-2 and 3-4 shift rods fit fine.

Im not sure on this, but doesnt that long rod on top go wth something else, i am doing a auto to manual swap and i got a box with everything needed from a donor car. just dont want to modify something that i might need later, but if not then im all for it:D

The long rod on top of the trans is the clutch pedal to bell crank rod,
you will need that... Crash

What year Camaro are you installing that in?

that other long rod is probably for something else, likely the clutch pedal to Z bar rod, like crash said (although i thought mine was straight...). but if you're doing an auto to manual swap and you get the linkage kit from the resto parts places, they come with all that stuff. I was suggesting reworking it to use as your reverse shift rod because you have it in your hand, and i'm cheap like that.

yeah i hear ya, i'll see if the local salvage yard has a rod laying around that i can rework, who doesnt like to save a few bucks:thumbsup: and the car its going in is a 75. the transmission is all rebuilt, and its just a street cruiser so the sag should be fine, otherwise i would get the st10

The rod with no adjuster and the bracket with the rotating arm looks like it is for the reverse lockout that connected to steering wheel/key assembly

I would need a better picture of the shifter to tell if it is Camaro or Firebird

Camaro used a Hurst shifter like that in 70-71 (a different Hurst in 69)

Firebird used a Hurst shifter like that in 70-79 (a different Hurst in 68 69)

The Chrome stick was different on some of the shifters and has a Hurst number stamped in the flat part that is inserted in the shifter body

I think you can use the shifter mount bracket but will have to spot and re-drill the 2 lower
holes in the bracket and match them to the trans holes
