Looks like the valve guide seal that I just had replaced on my car. Mine was coughing smoke on start up, now its clean as a whistle on start up with new guides.
Thats my 2 cents graemlins/thumbsup.gif

It's a Viton valve seal.

It's a Teflon valve seal.

I'll second, your second. It is a Teflon valve guide/stem seal.

Looks like a teflon, clamp-on valve seal to me. If I'm not mistaken, the tops of the valve guides need to be machined to use that type of seal.

My heads do not have any valve seals. Are you sure you want to use them?

Guido67SS ,

Stock heads a lot of times just have little black "O-rings" right under the retainers and keepers/locks that serve as something similar to a real valve guide seal.

They are not as effective as real guide seals but work well b/c of the millions of stock emgines that have used them.

They go in the lower valve stem groove and you have to be kinda careful installing them b/c you can crush and ruin them if the retainer and/or keeper squash them when you compress the valve spring to install everything. pdq67

And to reinforce pdq67's reply, the stock valve seal works with the stock spring/retainer cup on top of the valve spring. The Viton seal does not require the spring/retainer cup.
