Hey guys, Im a Chevelle guy but have been bitten by the Camaro bug again. I have had a 67 and a 68 but that was 15-20 years ago. I would like to find a Convertible (thats what my wife wants:D) project that I can do in my own time. What would I expect to pay for something that needs restored (floors, quarters, trunk, etc). Also, is there any things on the Verts to look for that would really make you stay away from it?

Welcome to the site !!! Pics of the 65 are needed too... I have a 70 Chevelle waiting for "someday" ... DOH....just visited your website link....VERY impressive, can I just send my 70 to you....:D

The converts have some unique inner structure that can be hard to replace due to low/no availability. The inner quarters/rear seat structure comes to mind. Also the front floor pan reinforcements can add to the cost and time required to replace, although they are readily available as aftermarket. They also require special attention if adding sub-frame connectors or other floor reinforcements for performance. If you can find one that doesn't need major floor/inner structural panel surgery for less than a new lear jet, you'll be time and money ahead...

The value of a project car is very difficult to determine because they are in various conditions and have various parts missing. You can probably find a complete and decent 67 - 68 convertible project for around $10K. You should be able to find a rough and incomplete project car for around $5K.

The wife may have a different opinion but sure, bring it on down.
