You can oval out the bolt holes on your cross member, and it will fit.
I didn't want to disfigure my original cross member, so I bought one from Bowties, (see Steve's link above).

I bought the 700r4 shifter plate conversion kit form Shiftworks and love it..(see Dave's link above)
