Well I finally started the motor in my Camaro. I have not heard a motor run in the car for over two years. You have no idea what a since of accomplishment this is.

Last night felt like a 16 year old on prom night. Smile from ear to ear.

And the best part, no leaks!!!!

Now I just have to adjust the carb, it's running rich.

One bad thing, while I was tightening the battery cable on the starter the wrench arched on my brand new coated headers. Anyone know where I can get touch up for ceramic coating.

It looks like your project is coming along good. As far as the header, did it burn all the way through the ceramic coating? If not you may be able to polish it out. I bet you wish you took the time to remove the battery cable now don't you?

Thanks!!!!!!

And yes, I'm kicking my self in the butt for not disconnecting the battery cable. I think I'll buy a can of VHT 1200 deg. ceramic paint and just touch up the header tube. You can't see where it arched, it's on the inside of the tube towards the motor.

Now let me ask you guys this. What would cause the motor to be running so rich that the smell from the exhaust burns your eyes? Right now I'm running a brand new Holley 650 DP.
