HELLO.

My frontend restoration is coming along. The arms are all done complete with ne PST bushings and new ball joints. Everything is looking great.
Last evening I went to install the lower Arms and found the driver side LCA alignment with frame pockets was good. Tight, but alignment is good.
NOW, the passenger side alignment is a bit different. The arm doesn't align perfectly to it's mating frame pockets. I mean it will be one tight fit. I can get the arm to start in the pocket by exerting a bit of work. IS THIS A NORMAL THING ?
The arms match in width and overall dimensions, angles etc.. are dead on. I for the heck of it tried the passenger arm on driver side to check if it's an arm issue, though orientated incorrectly, the arm fits in the driver side pockets. SO, doesn't seem to be an arm issue. I am confused.
I checked some overall frame dimensions from side to side and seems to match.
I started to think maybe something shifted or twisted when I replaced body mount bushings, but I used alignment pins.
I do remember the passenger side LCA being a bit difficult to remove when disassembling front end.
I see no signs of frame damage.
The arm will need to be darn near pressed into place if to proceed.
IS THIS COMMON FOR ONE SIDE TO BE REALLY SNUG ?
Also, I checked bushing width and they fall well within the 2 1/3 inch pocket width.
DEAD in the water for now.
THANKS

Ray - I had the same problem on my passenger side LCA. In my case, it was the new poly bushing that seemed to be binding in the front. I greased the frame pocket and was able to get the LCA in by using a block of wood and tapping the bottom of the LCA lightly with a hammer. I also had more luck coming straight up from the bottom rather than trying to push it in from the side. Once it was in, it seemed to fit just fine.

Do like Daral said, it is normal and not uncommon

Thanks Guys.

Earlier After Posting I Decided To Make A Template Of The Driver Side Lca Mounting Pocket Positioning From One Another.

I Then Flipped The Template Over To Check The Passenger Side Lca Mounting Pocket Positioning. Quickly It Was Obvious What Was Going On.
I Then Cut Some Blocks Of Wood And One Wedge And Did Some Tweaking. The Template Now Fits With Room To Spare.

I Did Go A Bit Wider With Width Of Pockets And Once The New Bushings Get Torqued I Figure They Will Set In To The Point When Contact Is Made With Bushing Insert Sleeve.

Amazed How Easy It Was To Tweak The Lca Mount Pockets And On Just How Much Of The Arm Integrity Is In The Bushing Sleeve.

It Would Seem To Me That A Liberal Coat Of Anti Sieze Compound On The Bolts That Pass Through The Sleeves May Be Warranted.

"]i Don't Know If Anti-sieze Would React Poorly With The Lube Supplied By The Polygraphite Manufacturer. Might Anyone Know If This Will Be A Problem?[/u]

Anyhow, I Am Happy To Hear Others Have Seen This Problem As Well. I Wasn't Sure If My Tweaking Was A Correct Fix, But Seemed To Be My Only Option Given The Results Of The Template Check.

I Can Breathe Easier Now.

Thanks A Bunch Guys.

Ray - Glad you got it in OK. I used anti-seize on the bolts and threads. It did mix some with the poly grease that was in the sleeve. I just wiped it off the threads before I applied a little anti-seize.
