Does anyone out there know how much fluid a Powerglide requires? Everything I have found on the net says 4qts, but I have a book that is dedicated to Powerglides and it says for the 67 327 it takes 1 1/2qts. I run a "deep" pan and it adds 2qts so I have been running 6qts, but now I am beginning to think that it's overfull. I would appreciate the input. Thanks.

With a regular pan and a 10-inch t/conv, I use 8 qts from a complete empty system including the t/conv and I fill it to the FULL line on the stick.

I even go as far as overfill 1 pint so at launch/acceleration, the filter still has fluid to ingest. Provided me another 0.2 seconds off the 60' time.

How much do you use for just a filter change? I have found so many conflicting specs. Some say it takes 4qts, the Powerglide book I got from NPD that uses info from TSR Racing Products, says 1 1/2qts. I also found a listing that said 6 pints or 3qts. How do I know which one is correct? I use the B&M deep cast aluminum pan that adds 2qts so do I use 6qts, 3 1/2qts or 5qts? I have no idea.
