Hey all,
I've been a phantom  member of this forum since about April. I was hovering around the idea of purchasing a 1st gen. for the past year, and had been gaining information anonymously here since then.
I finally bought a white '68 hard top i saw on craigslist. I am a 'DIY' guy when it comes to cars. I have never worked on something from this era before. I am NOT a body guy so this will be a fun project for me to learn some stuff.
The '68 I purchased is ... well...unique....
By unique I do not mean the shag carpet it had on the ceiling..
See if you can spot my little problem on the roof area...

The pictures I took so far were for reference for myself...and only I can decipher some of them. They aren't really "showy" pictures. There;s still a ton I didn't upload.
The '68 IS a '68 and not a '67 despite some cosmetic changes by the previous owner. The guy who had it before me said the engine is a 327 with th350 tranny. The car runs real well...and I redid the brakes so I could cruise around a little bit (all drums brakes). It has power nothing as far as peripherals. The rust isn't craaazyy, but its there and will need to be dealt with.
Anyway, I figured I'd register now that I actually own a 1st gen. I'm sure I'll have some questions in the near future...like how to rip the old roof off and get a new one...
