I came across a 70 split bumper car local to me, but am new to the Camaro world. I am familiar with F-bodies as I have 2 2nd gen TA's, but that's a differnt story.

What I found is a 70 RS, originally a 6cyl car, now with no motor/trans. Was a drag car and has subframe connectors, a fuel cell, elec pump and oversize fuel lines along with a 10bolt with 4.56's. Interior is complete and in nice shape other than the dash pad and lack of original front seats. Door panels, carpet, and all plastics are great. Has all glass. It will need full quarters and a center trunk pan (due to the fuel cell), but the floors, rockers, fenders and doors are solid. So are the framerails. Subframe was blasted/painted at some point, as was the inners and core suport. It's missing the heater assembly though, and the hood. All split bumper parts are there and on the car. I have a motor/trans to put in it. It's in the 2-2500 range, but not really sure if thats good or bad for what it is. I wish I had pics for you, but didn't think of it when I looked at the car. Any opinions on this? I'm hoping to act fast, as I was first to see it. Thanks for any help.

I think it is pretty good. If the urathane nose , Chrome bezel and upper and lower valances are good, thats about 1000.00 just there.

That seems like a good price if you are looking for a 2nd Gen project.

With the cost of metal today I hear a 70s car is worth about 5-$700 in scrap metal alone.

fyi, www.nastyz28.com is the best place for 2nd gen info

that said, your car is worth that in parts alone, for some reason people go gaga over the RS cars (not sure why, they are heavier)

sounds like a reasonable price and a reasonable start on a car if that is what you want to do

on the other hand there are deals out there on running cars, here is a "done" 71 for $12k:

sounds Fair ! I have a 71 full bumper, solid car with Motor and 4spd trans and this guy wants to give me 3,500 for it. I told him he was "CRAZY" !!

these cars are coming up in value the 70-73 models. good luck with your decision.
