Does anyone know what to use to mount new blowout clips to the roofrail weatherstrip retainers? I tried rivets but they stick down to far into the weatherstrip and the upper end is to high also.
Thanks for the help

Dan,
Are you using 1/8" rivets. I dont know anything else to use.
I would use steel or SS ( stainless steel ) rivets. I would cut the back side down and remove the middle stud if it is still in there. Then hammer the back down as flat as possible. I would file down the head on the weatherstrip side and make it flat as possible like the factory one. Just take your time and you should be able to make it like the factory one. Steel and SS rivets are harder than aluminum and the SS ones will not rust.

I used pop rivets with the "nail" removed. I used a grommet tool to set the rivet, and pound it flat.
