At some car shows this year, I noticed that a few guys had poster boards with pics and details about their car.
Shy visitors loved the information, and they were able to show "in progress" photos.

I spent a few hours last night, putting together 2 images, (1728 x 1296 pxl).
That comes out to 24" x 18", and the local photo store just printed them for $19.95 ea.
The printing took 10 minutes each, so I went to the craft store, (next door)
and bought two 20" x 30" foam backer board for $2.97 ea.
A little spray adhesive and they turned out great!
When I'm not at a show, they really dress up the garage too!

I was wondering how many TC members have show boards or posters for your car?

Tell us how you use it.
Do you have a stand or do you prop them up in the trunk? or on the front bumper?

If you have one, please post your board for other to see.

Very cool...I think your right, alot of people love looking at these photo boards and better yet photo's of any restoration your car has gone through.

I am in the process of having a board made up by my a friend of mine that works in our graphics department at work. It will only show completed photos of the car and a discription of the cars features. Some of the pictures I will using are also shown in my photobucket link below. Depending on how it turns out I may post it.

That turned out great! Can't wait to see it life-size at Summer Fest.

I will set out a board with an article from a mag of my car. I lean it against the front bumper, where it can be seen and it's still out of the way. I've always been worried if I used a "stand" some one (kid) not paying attention to where they are going might knock the stand over into my car, or worse, the guy's car next to me.

I always wanted a showboard that was a little different.

In that people could already see my car in person, I wanted to show them the specs, I made the following at office depot:

I hope to one day have to worry about my poster getting kicked into the car next to me at a show. I'm thinking right now maybe a magnet to the front license plate to hold it from the wind.

Thanks guys.
They are fun and easy to make.
If you can digitally crop photos, you can make a custom poster board.
I even added a couple card holders, for my painter and upholstery guy.
(two of the most common questions I get)

Seeing magazine articles of a car is very cool.
I've seen guys put mags in plastic sleeves, but they really don't want people picking them up or flipping through them.
I have bad eyes, so I printed this Hemmings article with big letters and both pages viewable.

Joe - I'd love to see your poster when it's done.

rlyfst1 - The kid knocking over a metal stand scares me, I can see that happening at least once every show. Thanks, very good advice..!

John - I love my Z/28 'vert and am finally able to drive/enjoy it.
I love your Z/28 RS 'vert. Too bad there are only 3 of them ever made. :D

Brentmc - I really like your show board, original and stylin'.
....it says (to me) she's "built like a Brick..House"..
I now plan to do another one, like yours, with a mountain or RedRocks as a backdrop.

Jeff - Great idea on the magnet.
I have some sticky-back magnet strip in my junk drawer, and it works great on the back of my board.
Thanks for the ideas - We'd love to see some more!!
