Hello, My name is Ed, I have a 67 Firebird 400 car. I bought it in 1990. I just recently bought a 68 rs ss convertible 396 4 spd. The car has been dismantled for almost 30 years. I do not have the protecto plate and I understand that 68 is a difficult year to doccument. I believe that I have a relatively rare car as camaros go and would like any suggestions. The car has ac pw pl 8 track p top I believe it had the 3 tone horn, but I haven't found it yet. I have just started to take the boxes of parts home.It has led lights on the fenders for the turn signals. I have never seen a camaro with that option. If any one has researched a car before and can give me some tips that would be great. Thanks, Ed

Welcome to Team Camaro,I dont think they had LED's in the 60's Sounds like a heavily optioned car and he may be describing Fiberoptics ?

It's the U46 optional light monitoring system called vigilite(sp?). It was installed on 1,755 68's and it "runs" on fiberoptics. Very cool find and welcome to the group. I find the Camaro White Book (by Michael Antonick) a valuble resource for things like this.
