There is a 69 Camaro for sale in my small town that claims to be an authentic COPO. It has the correct appearance and proper part numbers on much of the equipment.

Is there a way to authenticate this car? The VIN is 124379N674866

If it's a Canadian car, it's easily verifiable through GM Canada. However, if it's a US car, some people might be able to tell by the VIN# based on other known COPOs, although it's not a definite answer simply going by it.

Check this thread. It was advertised prior as a clone.
