I have the standard interior on my '67 but I want to use the deluxe seat covers. I really like the black covers with the white striped insets since the exterior of the car is Tuxedo black with Ermine white Z stripes. My question is... is it a fairly simple operation for a competent upholstery shop to modify the shorter deluxe seat cover to fit a standard interior rear seat or is there a better way to do it? I would think that one approach would be to unstitch the center section (above the hump) and stitch in a wider section (between the piping) to account for the wider seat.... but I'm not an interior guy. Has anyone done something similar? I usually have more luck when I hire something out if I first understand what can be done and tell them exactly what I'm looking for. I think Classic Industries sells the matching vinyl for the new section but a good interior shop would probably also have access to a supplier. I also have DSE minitubs so the lower portion of the seats (adjacent to the wheel well) will need to modified anyways.
