okiemark Sep 8th, 08, 08:27 AM Steve- I like that color also. I am having a '68 restored and considered a few different greens. Are you going with a vinyl top? There is a website that shows lots of "diecast" camaros at : diecastmusclecars.com
there may be a few green ones on there. It's a pretty good way to see different colors. If not, google: frost green, (year), camaro. I also considered Gold with black Z stripes
Zulu28 Sep 8th, 08, 09:33 AM I have been thinking about Cortez Silver for my 68 but I think that I would like it if it were about three shades darker and have a touch of dark blue in it, then add the black Z stripes... I am contemplating making it a Z clone, simply because I like the z28 logos... Since it's a restomod anyway, i don't feel like I need to stick with the originality as I would like to... So if I can't have an original car, I want someting that is bad bad bad.......
ddx77 Sep 8th, 08, 09:37 AM I vote for Cortez Silver!
Post some pics when it's done, no mater what you choose!
Regards,
Zulu28 Sep 8th, 08, 09:47 AM I like Drew, he has good taste!!!!
okiemark Sep 8th, 08, 10:03 AM personally, I'm still waiting to see someone put yellow houndstooth or gold delux in their '69 to show how "different" they can be. I chose daytona yellow (w/black z stripes) for my project but couldn't pull the trigger on yellow interior. STEPHEN: I was talking to a guy at a show the other day who had a Z Clone. He says he's taking his badges off because he's tired of explaining it to people. You may want to see if you can get "adhesive" Z badges that will come off when you want. I know they make the adhesive numbers for that purpose. I'm thinking about getting black "383" for mine.
Brandan Sep 8th, 08, 05:03 PM The frost greens and fathom greens are kind of rare now-adays, and they both look great.:beers: The cortez silver looks great as well, especially with black stripes. So whichever you decide, I am sure you won't be disapointed.
FYI: If you click on the cardomain site for my '69 below it is fathom green(57).

6781camaro Sep 8th, 08, 06:38 PM My code 59 is going back to factory after I am done with it. I am a fan of the frost and fathom greens.
My Coupe is a 59 59B car with a 711 interior and fold down rear seat.
Gotta love those earth tones! Yes, they are rare these days...
5speed502 Sep 8th, 08, 06:41 PM Mine was burnished saddle. That is one earth tone I don't think I will repaint.....

That car looks awesome with the stripes and the vinyl top. Beautiful. Mine was originally Fathom...many decades ago.

Yeah... I don't blame you... Mine was ermine white.... I think i'm gonna go with something else... The white w/ orange stripes doesn't look bad but I don't think that i want that color scheme...
5speed502 Sep 8th, 08, 07:05 PM White with orange strips is awfully hard to beat though..........
okiemark Sep 8th, 08, 07:38 PM white with orange stripes- everyone's gonna think its a Z-10. good color
Melrose RS Sep 8th, 08, 08:29 PM My first car was a fathom green '69 that we repainted Frost green with black Z stripes. Got lots of compliments. Go for it!

Send me a pic and I'll play with it for you.
supv26 Sep 8th, 08, 09:22 PM My '69 was originally Frost Green. When I had it in the paint shop they found a lot of it still in places on the car. I am not a fan of that color so I chose a green closer to the dark green that was offered.
steve's 69ss Sep 8th, 08, 11:02 PM Mine is supposed to have the vinyl roof. That will go back on too.
Rack Man Sep 8th, 08, 11:28 PM Here's triple green....(Recently sold:()
