BelAirBob Sep 8th, 08, 03:54 PM With all things being equal, both cars authenticated and certified and both with GM Docs, which do you think is more desirable and worth more? I'm thinking its still the RS/Z,but in terms of driving the cars, its tough to dislike a big block first gen! thorpe67RS Sep 8th, 08, 04:00 PM For me personally. The L78 hands down. In the market i suppose they are close. skyman51 Sep 8th, 08, 06:33 PM I think I'll stick with my RS Z/28:D firstgenaddict Sep 8th, 08, 07:32 PM I think the L78 should be worth more however they rarely are... Bgonz 69 Sep 8th, 08, 07:44 PM I think the L78 should be worth more however they rarely are... YUP........ What he said :beers: bob Jeff H Sep 8th, 08, 09:06 PM That's why you need one of each! :D It's too hard to pick one over the other. But I think the question is a little unfair since you added the RS to the Z28 but not to the L78. skyman51 Sep 9th, 08, 04:41 AM There is a beautiful 69 L78 on www.carsonline.com (http://www.carsonline.com) or in Hemmings, I don;t remember which. I will have to locate it again. It's in Virginia. Car has been judged and certified by Jerry according to the owner. It is black with parchment interior. Price is 85K.:beers: L7869 Sep 9th, 08, 05:04 AM I think I'll stick with my RS Z/28:D i think I'll stick with my L-78 DjD Sep 9th, 08, 09:14 AM Strictly based on number (4,889 L78's vs 20,302 Z/28's) the L78 is the more rare vehicle. I think without adding Jl8 brakes and cross-rams to the Z the L78 is worth more and more collectible. Again that's same overall quality and documentation... clill Sep 9th, 08, 09:33 AM As a guy that has been into Camaro's for a long time, the 69 Z28 has typically been more desirable than the L78 and brought more money. I don't know why but that is how it has been. Hylton Sep 9th, 08, 10:35 AM It's all about desireability.... 69Z28-RS Sep 9th, 08, 11:08 AM It depends on the person... There are guys who appreciate a high performance, high-winding engine in a high performing car... and then there are the big block guys.. :) skyman51 Sep 9th, 08, 11:56 AM I guess because I have two big block cars, I appreciae the Z for what it is regardless of which one is rarer. Quite frankly the Z with the 30 30 cam sounds meaner then either big block as cubic inches tend to eat up a cam and you really don't hear it as much. thorpe67RS Sep 9th, 08, 03:23 PM It's all about desireability.... That is true. But as a guy who would desire an L78 over a Z any day of the week im still puzzled. Especially in todays world where just about every 69 Camaro is badged as a Z. Hylton Sep 9th, 08, 03:25 PM That is true. But as a guy who would desire an L78 over a Z any day of the week im still puzzled. Especially in todays world where just about every 69 Camaro is badged as a Z. More guys want an RS/Z than an L78. That's all there is to it. Less guys, less demand, less value. Z/28 has more racing history than the L78 and an RS/Z looks downright nasty! thorpe67RS Sep 9th, 08, 08:02 PM More guys want an RS/Z than an L78. That's all there is to it. Less guys, less demand, less value. Z/28 has more racing history than the L78 and an RS/Z looks downright nasty! I understand the logic behind it. I just dont understand the logic of it. :) L7869 Sep 10th, 08, 05:17 AM they are both both great cars and great to have. of course if you want a super Z get a 70. al8apexer Sep 10th, 08, 10:18 AM ^ LOL, so true .... ^ that said if you want a super L78, get one of the 600 they made in 70 ... :) 69Z28-RS Sep 10th, 08, 10:19 AM That is true. But as a guy who would desire an L78 over a Z any day of the week im still puzzled. Especially in todays world where just about every 69 Camaro is badged as a Z. Being 'badged' as a Z28 does NOT a Z28 make....!.. Never has.. never will.. ***Admin Edited*** thorpe67RS Sep 10th, 08, 01:28 PM Being 'badged' as a Z28 does NOT a Z28 make....!.. Never has.. never will.. ***Admin Edited*** No S*** Sherlock. That wasnt my point. L7869 Sep 10th, 08, 06:00 PM ^ LOL, so true .... ^ that said if you want a super L78, get one of the 600 they made in 70 ... :) now , why didnt I think of that? HOW TRUE WELL SAID firstgenaddict Sep 11th, 08, 02:37 AM It's all about the marketing... Average Guys hear 69 Camaro they think Z28 not SS or L78... phel69 Sep 11th, 08, 07:08 PM I'll take an L78 anyday over an RS Z. Make it an RS L78 and it's even more better. JOE58 Sep 13th, 08, 06:52 PM It's the Z/28's stripes. They just screem racecar jd502 Sep 13th, 08, 07:06 PM I think that is true about the stripes, every one wants "Z" stripes on there car. I have seen them on every thing. I believe that is why so many people know the name Z28. IMO Lost in the 60's Sep 13th, 08, 07:54 PM To me, the Z is over rated and beaten to death. As a "big block guy", I would walk right past a nice Z to get an average L78 any day.....especially if it was a 67. |
