Looking through some old magazines, I came across this interesting article on the ZL1 Camaros. It is the article where Vince Piggins (Chevy Product Eng) released the ZL1 Camaro vins and info.
Vince was the guy at Chevy who was sort of running an underground racing program. He worked with the racers to supply special cars and parts even though Chevy was not supposed to be involved with racing.
Vince worked with a group at Chevy called Product Promotion Engineering AKA Chevy underground racing dept.
He is also known as the father of the Z/28
These guys could have made millions if they kept this list to themselves and hunted down and bought some of the unknown ZL1 Camaro’s.
